Image
Men and women often have different priorities when it come to a luxury home. Most women find an upgraded kitchen and wood floors of great importance...maybe a double oven and vegetable sink. Now, there are men who cook so I am not saying these upgrades would not be important to a man. Let's take a look at some of these upgrades that men might love to have in their home: An our door cooking area This area may include a top of the line grill, and smoker all built into a stone surround. A basketball court or golfing green These are easily added outdoors, but can be created within the home as well. A wine cellar This could be an entire room dedicated to wine, bar included! An extended garage For the car collector and 4 to 6 car garage may be on the list. A movie theater With stadium seating, projector and popcorn machine. Ready to find the luxury home of your dreams? Summertime home decorating ideas

Image
There are certain things we can do to take advantage of the warmer months indoors. Try out these summertime home decorating ideas: Bring the outdoors in. Freshly cut flowers make a beautiful addition to any table. Choose a brightly colored vase to display your flowery finds. Add pops of summertime colors throughout the house. Add brightly colored dish towels in the kitchen, towels in the bathroom and pillows and blankets in the living area and bedroom. Add touches of summertime. Hang your pool hat or beach bag out in the open for all to see! More from Regal Crest Luxury Homes: Home organizing tips Is too much of one interior color a bad thing? Listing your home: Photo tips

Is too much of one interior color a bad thing?

Photo: Rooms To Go (click for link) There is a simple answer to the question proposed in the title of this post: YES! Let's say you love the color gray. You pain your walls gray, order gray colored furniture for the living room, ad bring in gray accent rugs all through the house. All this would be fine, as long as you add in some accent colors. For example, you paint your kitchen cabinets gray to match your gray speckled granite countertops. Add white trim and a white back splash. If you paint your walls gray, add pale yellow accents to your room with pillows and rugs. Too much of any one thing can easily become too much. Be sure to break up the one color with accent colors and you will be okay! 15 year mortgage verses 30 year mortgage

Which is better for you, a 15 year mortgage or a 30 year mortgage? Let's take a look at the differences to help you decide: If I asked you if you would like to pay off your home in 15 years as opposed to 30 years, chances are your answer would be a firm, "Yes".  30 year loans are the most popular. The benefit of a 30 year loan is a lesser monthly house payment. On the other hand, you are paying more interest on the home. On a 15 year mortgage, your monthly payments are higher but you pay less interest over the duration of the home loan. Equity in the home increases quicker on a 15 year mortgage. My advice to you would be to get pricing for both loans, a 15 year and a 30 year and see if the 15 year falls into your monthly budget. Calling all first time luxury home buyers...

If this is your first time buying a luxury home, or maybe it's not, but you need a refresher, here are some key points to keep in mind: First, be sure to work with a Realtor that knows about the luxury home market. Amy Sossamon, with Regal Crest Luxury Homes , is the one for you if you live in Raleigh, NC and surrounding areas! Second, make a list of all the things you are looking for and not looking for in your new luxury home. Stick to your list and do not allow additional bells and whistles to sway you another way. Stick to your guns! There is no sense in paying for something you will never use later. Thirdly, never go by online pictures alone. Make sure you see the house in person! No matter how far you may have to travel, go and see the home. Lastly, do your research! Check on the locations, resale value and by all means, have the home inspected. Neon interior colors...In or out?

Image
Are you the owner of a luxury home and ready to stage it to sell? Pops of neon colors can make a room look fancy and luxurious. We are not suggesting you go all our and paint the walls neon and have custom furniture made in an array of neon colors.  Pops of color means adding throw pillows to the sofa or living room chairs. You can add pops of color with towels in the bathroom and throw blankets in the bedroom. Try a neon rug in the kitchen or even under the couch in the bonus room. Amy Sossamon can help you with your staging and house selling needs!  Regal Crest Luxury Homes , 919.671.1479 More from Regal Crest Luxury Homes: Listing your home: Photo tips We all love a pretty kitchen Countertops: What is trending?

Listing your home: Photo tips

The pictures used when you list your home are the first impression potential buyers have of your home and they can make or break your sale. Unfortunately, this happens all too often. If you are not a photographer, reach out to your Realtor for help. A couple of helpful home photography tips: Always take pictures of the ENTIRE room. Make sure lighting is bright enough. Take pictures with lighting behind you if possible. Always include pictures of the front yard, back yard, front of the house and back of the house. Extra pictures of the kitchen are always good.  Pick up all clutter before taking a single picture. These tips are definitely helpful, but having a skilled photographer is your best option...whether it be your Realtor or a hired professional. Ready to sell your home or buy a new home?
